It was constructed by a well-respected West Shore pier builder, Robert Pomin prior to 1950.  Robert's father, Ernest Pomin, was Chief Machinist for Lake Tahoe Railway & Transportation Company, which may help explain the many railroad ties we still see around the property today.  His Grandfather, Captain Ernest John Pomin, was the first and longest running Captain of the Tahoe Steamer (1890-1917), the largest steamship ever to sail Lake Tahoe.
